Benton Park Inn

Benton Park Inn is a bed and breakfast in an 1895 house in Benton Park, with the neighbourhood’s fourteen-acre park directly across the street – which is a rare thing to be able to say of a city guest house.

The building has been kept as a period house and furnished accordingly, with antique pieces in the guest rooms, while the beds, bathrooms and services are modern. The combination is the point: the character of a nineteenth-century St. Louis house without the discomfort that sometimes comes with it.

A full breakfast, cooked fresh, is included with a stay. There is a fireplace in the lobby, free wi-fi, barbecue grills for guests and free self-parking on site.

The location is what recommends it to anyone visiting Cherokee Antique Row. Benton Park sits directly between the Row and the Anheuser-Busch brewery: Cherokee Street is a walk of a few blocks, Gus’ Pretzels is around the corner, and the Lemp Mansion is close by. A visitor staying here can do the whole of the Cherokee-Lemp district on foot, which is not true of most accommodation in St. Louis.
