We are a small group of volunteers with a soft spot for this part of St. Louis. Nobody here is paid for the work, nothing on this site is for sale, and none of us keeps a shop on the street. We are simply people who think six blocks of Cherokee Street are worth writing down properly.
Why the site exists again
Cherokee Antique Row has been in the antiques trade since 1945, and it has had a website for a good part of that time. By the time we came to it, that website had gone quiet. The shop list named businesses that had closed years before, the directions were scanned photographs of maps, and a fair number of the telephone numbers rang out. All of it was still online, and all of it was still being read.
Letting it disappear seemed the wrong answer. Leaving it as it was seemed worse: an out-of-date directory does more harm than no directory at all, because somebody acts on it. So we started again — same street, same trade, same name, rebuilt around what is actually here now.
How we work
We check things, and we say so when we have not. Every listing that nobody has yet confirmed on the street carries a note telling you exactly that, because we would rather admit a gap than send you across town on our word. Opening hours change, shops close, businesses move, and no volunteer project keeps up with all of it in real time.
We do not take payment from the businesses we list, and a shop cannot buy its way up the page. The order of the directory is the order it is in; the categories are what a place actually sells. If a business would rather not be listed at all, we take it down — no argument, no form to fill in.
Photographs and text
Much of what is here — descriptions, historical notes and photographs — comes from sources that were already public: the businesses’ own websites and social media, public records, and material published about the street over the years. We do not claim any of it as our own, and we credit it wherever we know who to credit.
If a photograph or a piece of writing here is yours and you would rather it were not, tell us which page it is on and which image you mean — the form below reaches us, or write to [email protected]. We will take it down. You do not need to prove ownership to us first or explain why: this is a volunteer directory of one street, and nothing on it is worth a dispute.
Supporting the project
The work is done for nothing and the site is free to read, but it is not free to run. There are two things that genuinely help.

Hosting, the domain and the odd tool are paid for out of pocket. If the site has saved you a wasted trip, or you simply like that it exists, you can put something towards the running costs on Ko-fi. There is no membership, no tier and no reward — it goes on the bills, and the site stays exactly as free as it is now.
