Where to Stay

Casa Magnolia Bed and Breakfast

Casa Magnolia is a bed and breakfast in a 1906 house in the Shaw neighbourhood, directly across the road from Tower Grove Park and a short walk from the Missouri Botanical Garden. For a visitor who wants green space and quiet within the city, the position is difficult to better.

The house has been taking guests since 2005 and is run by its innkeepers, Lillabet and Jordi, who have a long-standing reputation for looking after people properly. Three guest rooms are let, each with a private bathroom.

Breakfast is a full one, cooked and served daily: a main course, meat, fruit, pastries and hot drinks. Guests consistently single it out, along with the size of the rooms and how well the house is kept.

The house has fireplaces, air conditioning throughout, free wi-fi and a swimming pool, along with the small courtesies – bottled water, cookies – that distinguish a house run by its owners from a hotel run by a rota.

Shaw is one of the handsomer parts of south St. Louis, and Cherokee Antique Row lies a short drive east, which makes Casa Magnolia a comfortable base for a weekend built around the antique shops, Tower Grove Park and the Botanical Garden together.
