Clippers and Shears

Clippers & Shears is a barber and beauty salon on Cherokee Street, one of St. Louis’s most colorful commercial corridors, in the Marine Villa neighborhood. The shop is part of the Cherokee Street CID business directory alongside nearly two hundred other local shops, studios and cafés, and has long been a fixture of the district.

The founder and owner is barber Ramone B. Gibbs, better known as Bee the Barber. With more than a decade behind the chair, he builds his work around professionalism, integrity and precision cutting, keeping clients current with up-to-date styles. He is joined by a team of licensed barbers: Davonte Fultz (Vonte the Barber), a versatile talent with over five years in the industry; Anthony Jeww (Jew the Barber), who pairs classic cuts with current trends and aims to deliver a client experience rather than “just a service”; and Kyle Mosqueda (KM), who works with a diverse clientele and every hair texture. Braiding and loc stylists also take clients at the shop.

Services cover men’s cuts and fades, beard shaping, line-ups and edge work, kids’ haircuts, women’s styling, braids, goddess locs and conditioning treatments for all hair types.

The salon positions itself at the premium end of the market — an “amazing luxury hair experience” delivered by licensed barbers and stylists. Appointments are booked in advance through the Squire platform, where clients choose their barber by name. That keeps wait times down, but it also means walk-ins are rarely accommodated, even when the window sign suggests otherwise.

Alongside services, the shop carries its own grooming line, the B. Gibbs Collection: beard oil, coil cream, herbal conditioning spray, hydration conditioner and tea tree shampoo, priced from $18.98 to $31.99. Several products are available through the salon’s online store, while branded apparel is sold separately through The Bee The Barber Store.

Customers consistently mention the clean, welcoming atmosphere, easy conversation, sharp kids’ cuts and skilled braiding work.
