Nobody sleeps on the Row itself — it is six blocks of shops, and they all lock up by evening. What the neighbourhood has instead is its own lodging: inns and guest houses in Benton Park, Soulard and Lafayette Square, most of them in the same nineteenth-century brick the antique shops trade out of. Several are a few minutes’ walk from the shops; none is more than a short drive.

Two are worth knowing about before you look at the rest. The Lemp Mansion lets rooms in the house the brewing family built, and serves dinner downstairs — it is on the map here and on the one under where to eat. The Benton Park Inn is the nearest thing to staying on the Row, six hundred metres off it.

The chain hotels are downtown, ten minutes away by car and on every booking site there is, so they are not listed here. If you want a room with a lift, a car park and a late check-in, look there. If you would rather wake up in the same kind of building you spent the day shopping in, look below.
